Well, here goes my summer experiment, if you will. After not very much thought, I figured I’d start my own blog, thanks to inspiration from a couple other sites I’m sure I’ll mention at some point. As it should say in the profile that may or may not be able to be seen, the main intention for this is to be a sports blog. But it’s going to be so much to it than that…
For a couple reasons: first, contrary to the belief of those that know me (at all), there IS more to my life than sports, though it is most likely my biggest passion; secondly, it’s June, and after the sure-to-be-exciting Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals, it’s pretty much nothing but baseball, and the seemingly-eternal countdown to football season (which has definitely already begun).
That said, this first post, is not a sports-related post. More of an icebreaker, which of course means it’s vital. I have NO EARTHLY idea how many people (if any at all) are going to read this. I hope people do, and I’m sure I’ll put a link on my Facebook and go about it that way. Of course not yet, because I’m still figuring out what does what and all that…
I just figured out the heading, and I think it’s cool. The name of the blog seems appropriate, but I’m open to suggestions. It certainly fits my situation…
…which is this: I’m a student at Tennessee in Knoxville, on the cusp of the mystery that is summer school. I have NO IDEA what it’s going to be like. I’ve been told Knoxville is a ghost town in the summer, and I get to find that out Monday. I’m just up here for a month, taking two classes, in return for slacking off (finally, sort of) with Tuesday/Thursday 12-hour fall. I’m also in the apartment I’ll be in next year, except for the minor detail of being by myself and not even the actual room I’ll be moving into in August….
then there’s the whole bike deal. with the skyrocketing gas prices, I figured I could save some money (since I’m currently making NO money) by biking to campus each day. Problem is, the bike I’m using is questionable at best, and I haven’t ridden in awhile. Throw in the having to cross The Strip, the hills, and the pristine condition of the sidewalks, and well it should be interesting…
I think I’ve rambled enough, which I’ll do alot here, so get used to it…til next post…
